About the Author

I’m Ian Terry. I’ve always been drawn to what sits beneath the surface—systems, structures, the spaces between things. Raised between spiritual maps and scientific models, I found myself asking early: why do we believe what we believe? Why does one way of understanding the world feel sacred, and another mechanical? And can both be true?

Olam grew from those questions. It isn’t a book of answers—it’s a book of architecture. It traces how we become who we are, how instinct and environment give rise to consciousness, and how belief systems emerge from that spiral.

My background is in user experience and systems design. For over a decade, I’ve worked in health data, community-driven technology, and participatory research. But Olam isn’t about software. It’s about the interface between personhood and pattern, and how we navigate it.

This project is a map, yes—but a living one. Not to tell you where to go, but to help you notice where you are. And maybe, where you've always been spiraling toward.
